The Elements
EARTH
Just as the elements of earth are solid and unmovable, so is our past. Without understanding our origin and our past experiences, it is impossible to move forward. During the earth portion of the experience of the Alchemy Effect™, we honor our memories, thoughts and prior selves. We ask ourselves where we are from. In astrology, this portion of the journey is best characterized by the characteristics Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn: stable, unwavering, and grounded.
AIR
After moving through earth, we move onto the supple state of air: who we are at the present moment. Taking the temperature of our current self-perception allows us to set goals and dream. Through mindfulness, we ask ourselves where we are presently. As thinkers, doers, and analysts, Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius resonate heavily with this portion of the journey.
FIRE
After air comes the fire portion of our exploration. At this state, we utilize our other two elements as combustible material for our adventure into the future. The question characterized by fire is ''where am I going?". It allows us to develop character and courage in the face of trauma and tribulation. Just as the signs Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius are known for their passion and ability to change, this segment is the spark of inspired action.
WATER
After assessing our being as a whole: who we were, who we are, and where we are going, we come to the flow phase of The Alchemy Effect™: water. This venture into our deeper selves is characterized by allowing forgiveness and releasing fears. Thus at this stage we physically position ourselves for spiritual transformation. During this period we realize how to complete our journey. Cancers, Scorpios, and Pisces embody the emotional deepness and flow of this cycle.
ETHER
Upon completing the physical cycle of moving through the elements, we are now able to reach the real purpose of our manifesting–ascension. At this phase we meld the physical and spiritual worlds to experience ether. The magical process of transformation and creation allows for the full expression of our dream. This final step is the completion of the cycle where we, the alchemists, turn dreams into delightful reality.
What is Alchemy?
Long before the periodic table was developed, there was alchemy. Specifically used by scientists of the day to turn metal into gold, this spiritual and physical process mystified the common man. In order to perform such an otherworldly feat, the technique married science and magic. After years of practice and development, this method branched out to be the father of what is now known as chemistry. Through evolution, however, a critical aspect of the art was lost along with its ancient wisdom.
Today, alchemy is recognized as a pseudoscience. Although the predecessor of chemistry, it has come to be viewed as illegitimate. What was lost in years of evolution was its balancing component: spirituality.
A modern day alchemist interacts with both the ethereal and physical planes, uniting them and producing supernatural results. An alchemist is able to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary, and through that process his relationship to himself and the world around him transformed.
Even though this phenomena has been viewed as supernatural, the people who have been executing the process are anything but. They are not extraterrestrial, humans with the desire to bring heaven to earth.
As humans we are firmly grounded in the reality of living on Earth, but we are given constant access to the celestial realm where dreams reside. At first it appears to be a cruel joke, allowing us just enough access to envision our desires, but not enough entry to live there with those desires. It seems as though gravity conspires to keep us down and our desires out of reach. However, the divinity of our desire is available to us at any time, all we must do is transform the effervescent into matter.
Through using the tangible elements our planet has given us, earth, air, fire, and water, we have the ability to transcend our physical plane. By working with each element and mastering the lessons they teach us, we turn the ethereal into reality, and through that process, we ourselves are turned ethereal.

What is the Alchemy Effect™?
The mere fact that we can visualize our dreams means they are available to us, however, many of us get stuck in the process of inhabiting them. For some, the achievement of a goal feels like moving fulfillment further back as there is another goal immediately lined up in replacement. For others it is just the opposite. Pushing through barriers feels impossible and consequently we divorce ourselves from the desire to dream due to the pain of feeling disempowered.
In both scenarios, the frustration and despair are the results of imbalance. For those of us struggling with life’s meaning, we are missing the spiritual component to our human experience. Contrarily, those who feel our dreams will never become realized in the physical plane are locked in the heavenly realm with no map to return to earth. When it comes to unfulfillment, the remedy is the same: reconnecting to the physical in order to experience the divine.
The fundamentals of life are contained within the framework of the Alchemy Effect™. It is a way of understanding the human condition and a method of ascention. Through intimate understanding and utilization of earth, air, fire, and water, elements gifted to us at birth, we find purpose in all of our human iterations. This profound interconnectedness with our physical plane allows for communication with the divine and the manifestation of our dreams. As we connect with and utilize our current resources, the elements, we are able to grow into our dreams.
